36th Annual Meeting of the American Association of State Climatologists (AASC) Several members of the Southern Climate Impacts Planning Program will be in attendance at the 36th annual meeting of the American Association of State Climatologists (AASC), which will be held in Asheville, North Carolina July 20-22, 2011. The meeting will follow on the heels of the American Meteorological Society's Applied Climate and Climate Adaptation Conferences, which are being held earlier in the week in Asheville. |

Practical Solutions for a Warming World: AMS Conference on Climate Adaptation Members of the Southern Climate Impacts Planning Program team will be in attendance at the American Meteorological Society conference on Climate Adaptation this coming July 18-20 in Asheville, North Carolina. The SCIPP team will present on a series of interview and survey projects as part of the National Climate Assessment, among other conference activities. Third Annual SCIPP Stakeholder Services Committee Meeting SCIPP will hold its third annual Stakeholder Services Committee Meeting on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 in Austin, TX. Mr. Bob Rose of the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA), who is a meteorologist for LCRA and one of SCIPP's 15 committee members, is hosting the meeting. Like past annual reviews, this meeting will again bring together SCIPP's 15-person committee to review the past year's activities and provide recommendations and guidance moving into the next program year. |

American Association of Geographers Annual Meeting Several SCIPP team members from Louisiana State University will be in attendance at the 2011 American Association of Geographers annual meeting being held in Seattle, Washington April 12-16, 2011 to present a variety of research projects. Projects include research on storm surge return periods across the U.S. Gulf Coast, historical storm surge analyses, urban influences on precipitation in the southeast United States, and the impact of weather on public perception of climate change.
