SCIPP researcher and Ph.D. candidate Hal Needham was awarded first place in the Climate Specialty Group Student Paper Competition at the 2013 Association of American Geographers annual meeting in April 2013. Needham presented on Correlating Storm Surge Heights with Tropical Cyclone Winds at and before Landfall.
