There is a modest level of support for community preparation options for mitigation of potential impacts from tornadoes. This was demonstrated through an experiment in which participants were asked about their willingness to pay for certain mitigation options (individual or community-based) and intergenerational equity. The findings suggest some level of support for community options which may be useful in arguing for expenditure of mitigation funding.
