Conducting research is a critical element of SCIPP.

Research allows us to contribute to the advancement of science while concurrently meeting needs that are identified through our stakeholder networks. We conduct social and physical science research related to climate hazards and challenges.

Social science methods are employed to understand needs and the contexts in which decisions are made so that our research, products and services are relevant to decision makers. Physical science research is conducted to better understand the physical surroundings and the climate hazards that impact the southern U.S. Below are some of the recent lines of research we have been pursuing.
