In order to contend with an exceptional drought during 2010-2013, SCIPP, NOAA Regional Climate Services, the National Drought Mitigation Center, NIDIS, and CLIMAS produced a bi-weekly series of webinars to discuss the evolution of the drought, impacts, and management options. The webinars showcased the real-time impacts of the droughts and allowed those involved in drought planning and management to share their coping strategies, encouraging more proactive rather than reactive strategies.
