Dept. of Communication StudiesLouisiana State University Renee Edwards (Ph.D., Florida State University) is a Professor of Interpersonal Communication in the Department of Communication Studies at Louisiana State University. Her research examines risk communication, social cognition, message interpretation, and misunderstanding. In addition to her work with SCIPP, her projects have included Building Resilience to Extreme Events and Water Hazard Planning in Rural Communities (Co-PI, 2018-2019), Communicating Climate Tools to Coastal Stakeholders (PI, 2018-2019), and Hurricanes, Institutional Policies, and Information Processing: Engagement with Decision-Makers and Coastal Residents (PI, 2009-2010).
